Happy Birthday Daily Lit

On March 05 Daily Lit hit it's first year anniversary.

I want to recognize the unique work they've accomplished over the last year. Beginning with titles in the public domain, they have increased their book list with over 700 free and hundreds under paid subscription services. With over 25 publishers signed, they are quickly approaching 1000 titles. Combined with the recently announced partnership with Twitter, Daily Lit's digital product line is also expanding.

So if you're not familiar with Daily Lit, take a few moments and check them out. They offer books in brief. Titles are delivered to subscribers either via email or RSS feed. And now with Twitter.

Their achievements are remarkable when you consider the challenges of delivering "long-form" content in "micro-chunks". Typically you find reader immersion as a core benefit of "long-form" print products however it appears that Daily Lit is finding a niche that accepts serialization as a means to consume "long-form".

What does this mean for publishers? Perhaps, a new channel for incremental revenues.
